Position: Human
Resource Officer (1)
About the Job and
Reporting
The
overall purpose of this job is to guide and manage the overall provisions of
Human Resources Functions and policies across the Company’s functional areas to
ensure the departments receive real-time human resource services.
To be a
successful candidate in this position, you should have good understanding of
Labour Laws, emerging issues in HR, experience in HRMIS and proficiency in MS Word,
Excel and PowerPoint presentation.
Reporting:
Reporting to the Managing Director
the job holder will handle below but not limited to:
1.
Develop
and monitor implementation of effective human resource strategies and policies
in line with the business strategy;
2.
Recruit,
deploy and retain quality talents for the company for optimal alignment of
Human Capital to the strategic mandate;
3.
Coordinate
organizational training needs assessment and plans training and development
interventions;
4.
Develop
and maintain a cohesive and flexible performance-based culture that will
deliver on company objectives;
5.
Ensure
all elements of human resources cycle i.e., manpower planning & establishment,
recruitment & selection, employee welfare & industrial relations,
safety & health, training & development, career and performance
management, compensation & reward, and exit management are effectively
implemented across all departments;
6.
Ensure
review of job descriptions, specifications and grading in line with job scope
and dynamics in liaison with user department;
7.
Ensuring
personnel records are in order and updated including Leave management as per
the company policy;
8.
Payroll
administration by providing correct variables to Payroll/Data department for
payroll purposes;
9.
Ensure
ground work and due diligence on all the labour issues and sorting out
disciplinary issues
10. Ensure all workers committees are
actively working.
11. Coordinate and supervise
administrative functions and outsourced services of the organization including
security services and management of office premises;
12. Any other
duty as will be assigned periodically
Education,
Knowledge & Experience
·
At least a
Diploma in Human Resource Management or relevant field, preferably by KNEC.
·
A member of the
Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
·
At least 3 years’
experience in the same capacity preferably in an agricultural sector.
·
Understanding of
labour laws and Industrial relations
·
Understanding of
disciplinary procedures.
·
Effective
organizational skills
·
Proficient in MS
Office and knowledge of HRMS
·
Attention to
detail, record-keeping & related administrative HR operations
